Michael Stewart Frankel

Michael Stewart Frankel is the founder of the firm and his practice concentrates on complex personal injury and commercial litigation. Having earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1973 and his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law in 1976, he has actively practiced law in New York since 1977 and is highly experienced in numerous areas of civil practice, including lead poisoning litigation, vehicular accidents, age and racial discrimination, police misconduct, brain injury cases, defective products, elevator accidents, insurance, complex commercial litigation, and nursing home abuse and neglect. He is admitted to practice before the state courts of New York as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Michael has tried and argued cases before New York trial and appellate courts. A pioneer in the area of childhood lead poisoning litigation in New York, Michael has been the lead attorney and attorney of record on many reported cases including the landmark New York lead poisoning case entitled Juarez v. Wavecrest Mgt. Team, Ltd., 88 NY2d 628 [establishing landlords’ regulatory liability for childhood lead poisoning under NYC Local Law 1], Munoz v. Puretz 301 AD2d 382 [liability of landlord for prenatal exposure to lead based paint suffered by the unborn child of a tenant], Zaman v. Patwary 295 AD2d 424 [notice of child under Local Law 1], Perez v. New York City Housing Authority, 304 AD2d 736 [collateral estoppel effect of DOH lead paint violations] and has obtained for his clients millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements. He has taught law and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum – The Top Trial Attorneys In America, and has been chosen to be a member of Best Attorneys of America.
